Her studies and professional experience embrace many aspects of music, and Marta freelances as a violinist, music editor and type-setter, and has her own private teaching practice.
Originally trained as a violinist, her interest in musicology and critical editions of musical works led to an extended period of advanced training – first at Universidad de La Rioja (BMus in Musicology), and at Royal Holloway University of London (MMus in Advanced Musical Studies, graduating with Distinction).
Before returning to Spain, she also held the post of Music Librarian & Curator of Instruments at The Yehudi Menuhin School, in Surrey, and now pursues further studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, specialising in the Master in Spanish and Latin-American Music.
Recent credits include co-editing a number of editions for Schott-London.
Marta graduated in Spain with a BMus in Violin Performance and Chamber Music. She became a member of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE) and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra – Pablo Sarasate (1999-2003) and collaborated with the Orquesta Nacional de España and the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico. Her recording credits include a number of commercial CDs and session work for film and television.
During her years based in the UK (2013-2018), Marta was active both as a violin teacher in the North London Colourstrings Centre & Conservatoire and as a freelance violinist (Orpheus Sinfonia).
